The Utah Workshop on Methods and Applications in Molecular and Solid-State Theory
The workshop is hosted by the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Utah and the Quantum Theory Project at the University of Florida, and will be held in Park City, Utah, on September 22-27, 2019.
The emphasis of the workshop is on many-body methods: the development of innovative theory and its computational realization, together with its application to a broad variety of problems. It has been recognized that while the prospects for the theoretical study of quantum systems in chemistry and physics has progressed radically since the dawn of the computer age, computation on its own is not enough; new theoretical work has to be encouraged to extend both the range of problems amenable to study and the accuracy of applications in a range of areas.
